Ko Phi Phi
Ko PP is a really great island with a relaxed atmosphere: no cars, coconut trees, great beaches, etc... Of course, this also means everybody wants to go there so there are a lot of hotels and tourists. I don't think it'll get better once Leonardo Di Caprio's new film "The Beach" will be released, since it was filmed at Maya Beach (PP Leh). How to get there That's easy, only by boat. There are different boats going to PP From Krabi at 10.00 and 14.30, price 150 Bht From Ao Nang and Rai Leh (same boat): 9.00 and 9.30, price 250 Bht From Phuket 8 am and 13.30, price 250 Bht.

Accommodation

Best hotel in town is Hotel Sapolohe (not in LP-guide). They have seaview, rooms have AC and hot water and cost 125.000 Rp without breakfast. They have a very nice garden with bonsai trees.

Another possibility is the View Inn Hotel. Their location is excellent, but rooms could be better. They were installing AC in their rooms. The restaurant is good and well located.

A hotel which was highly recommended by someone was the Riswan Guesthouse. It is set on stilts, 15 m. high at 75 m of the beach with a marvellous view. They have very clean rooms with safe and fan. The showers and toilets are sparkingly clean (10/98).

What to do

Nearby is the Tana Beru beach where you can see craftsmen building boats. A guided tour costs 40.000 Rp (10/98).

You van make a boattrip to Liukanglu island. They now have a beautiful hotel on the island.   The Bissape waterfall is not that spectacular.

Kajang Village is not that great either, you won't find many people in black.
